 Cornell Launches Bilingual MBA in English and Mandarin

To serve corporate and organizational leaders across China, Cornell’s Johnson School of Management and Tsinghua University’s PBC School of Finance have joined hands to offer a dual degree MBA and Finance MBA.

Commenting on the partnership, Dean Soumitra Dutta of Cornell Johnson said, “The launch of the dual-degree program is truly a historic moment in our respective schools’ history. With China as the second-largest economy in the world, it is an important point in time to collaborate and develop this important partnership and unique program, to benefit students and executives from both America and China”.

Administrators at PBC School of Finance were equally enthusiastic. Executive Associate Dean Liao Li said, “We are honored to be part of this formidable partnership and foresee the tremendous possibilities for mutual growth”.

Program Structure

The twenty-one month program, offering 60 credits, is scheduled to commence in April 2015 and will enroll 65 students in the age bracket of 30 to 35 years.

Participants, housed at PBC School of Finance in Beijing, China, would participate in two two-week study trips engaged in:

  • Case Competitions
  • A Wall Street Trek
  • Integration with Johnson MBA students on the Cornell Campus in Ithaca, NY
  • Integration with Johnson EMBA students on the Cornell Tech Campus in NYC
